Here’s what you need to renew your license by April 30, 2016.

By April 30, 2016 Illinois Broker licensees must have completed the continuing education (CE) requirements and applied to renew their license through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).

What’s required will depend on how and when you received your Illinois broker license.  Review the three scenarios below and select the one that applies to you.

Scenario #1:

Brokers who became licensed between February 1, 2014 and February 1, 2016 with a license expiration date of April 30, 2016:

·         You must complete and pass the 30-Hour Broker Post- License Course before April 30, 2016.

·         You have no other CE requirements for this renewal period.

·         Submit your renewal application with the $150 State of Illinois licensing fee to the Illinois Department of Financial & Professional Regulation (IDFPR) by April 30, 2016 www.idfpr.com.


Scenario #2:

Brokers who were licensed BEFORE February 1, 2014:

·         You will need to have taken 12 hours of CE between May 1, 2014 and April 30, 2016.

·         The 12 hours must include a minimum 6 hours Core CE and a maximum 6 hours of elective CE.

·         The 6 hours Core CE must be 3 hours Core A and 3 hours Core B.

·         Submit your renewal application with the $150 State of Illinois licensing fee to the Illinois Department of Financial & Professional Regulation (IDFPR) by April 30, 2016 www.idfpr.com.

 


Scenario #3:

Brokers who were licensed ON OR AFTER February 1, 2016:

·         YOU DO NOT NEED TO RENEW IN 2016. Your broker license renewal deadline is April 30, 2018 and the only hours required for the 2018 renewal will be the 30-Hour Broker Post-License Course.
